Seismic DSP is a trading name of Awesome Shiny Things("we", "us"), 9 Newton Place, Office 1, Technology House, Glasgow, Scotland, G3 7PR. We are the controller of the personal data described below. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Order and account details: your name and email address when you buy a product or create an account.
- Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details.
- Licence activation data: when you activate a plugin, it sends a machine fingerprint (a salted, one-way hash of hardware identifiers). It does not identify you as a person; we use it only to count activations against your licence.
- Support messages: anything you send us through the support or enquiry forms.
- Aggregate website analytics: general, non-identifying usage of the site, such as which pages are viewed and overall traffic. We do not use it to identify you, build a profile of you, or serve advertising.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not track you across other websites, run advertising, or collect usage data beyond the aggregate analytics above and what is necessary to take payment and run the service.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To fulfil your order, deliver and activate your licence, and provide support: performance of our contract with you.
- To secure the service, enforce activation limits, and understand aggregate site usage: our legitimate interests.
- To meet tax and accounting obligations: legal obligation.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us operate, acting on our instructions as processors: Stripe (payment processing) and Cloudflare (email delivery and website delivery). They may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose data where required by law.
Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. These are essential to the service and are not used for tracking. Where our analytics require cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first.
Retention
We keep order and account records for as long as you have an account and for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records. Activation records are kept for the life of the licence. Support messages are kept for as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
